Dry Eyes
What is Dry Eye?
Are you suffering from dry eyes? It's crucial to get a thorough eye exam to identify the cause of this uncomfortable condition. While eye drops may provide temporary relief, our clinic offers advanced treatments to address the root of the problem and provide lasting comfort.
Dry eye syndrome is a persistent, often progressive condition that occurs when the eyes are unable to produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too rapidly, leading to an imbalance in the eye’s tear film. This disruption can cause a variety of symptoms, including dryness, irritation, redness, a gritty or sandy feeling in the eyes, and blurred vision. The condition may be caused by a range of factors, such as aging, environmental conditions, certain medications, or underlying health issues. Over time, if left untreated, dry eye syndrome can lead to significant discomfort and even damage to the surface of the eye.

What Causes Dry Eye?
Lifestyle, age and gender can contribute to dry eyes. Staring at tablets and computer screens, daily exposure to air conditioning, wind, smoke and dry climates are the major causes. Long term use of contact lenses, refractive surgery and some medications can worsen the dry eye syndrome symptoms.
Aqueous Deficient Dry Eye
The watery component produced by the lacrimal glands (aqueous) is important. A lack of aqueous production can result in a type of dry eye called aqueous deficient dry eye. Aqueous deficient dry eye can be associated with disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.
Evaporative Dry Eye
The oil component (lipid) is important for reducing evaporation of tears. It is produced by the meibomian glands. Meibomian gland dysfunction can create a deficiency in the lipid component of the tears, which leads to evaporative dry eye.
Experience calming relief and restoration with our premium dry eye treatment

Lid Hygiene
At the first stage of managing blepharitis and dry eye disease, warm compresses help to loosen and dissolve blockages in the meibomian glands, while regular lid hygiene cleanses the eyelid margins of debris and bacteria. This foundational approach promotes healthier gland function and reduces discomfort.

BlephEx Treatment
BlephEx is an advanced medical device designed to treat blepharitis and dry eye disease. It effectively removes scales and debris that contribute to chronic lid disease and discomfort. After the cleaning process, you may experience an increase in your natural tear production.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Treats dry eye by removing blockages in the meibomian glands. Blocked meibomian glands are a major cause of meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), which is responsible for nearly 80% of dry eye cases. When these glands are blocked, they don’t produce enough oil for the tears, leading to dry eyes. IPL therapy stimulates and restores healthy gland function, providing long-term relief for chronic dry eye disease
